FINE NATURAL HISTORY BOOKS

Here we will begin to offer fine books with hand-colored plates.  Whether for study or enjoyment many of these were the only way that scientists or the humble savant could read and view the latest discoveries found throughout the world.  Many of the subjects used by the artists and engravers were simply the skins that were brought back on board the ships and so the artist's re-creations are sometimes severely lacking in realism!!
